Pedigree Database

The coefficient of inbreeding (COI) is a formula used to calculate the probability that a puppy will inherit two identical copies of a given gene
descending from an ancestor that appears on both sides of the puppy’s pedigree. The purpose of the COI is to give breeders a way to assess
the degree of inbreeding based on the pedigrees of potential sire and dam. COI in the STCA Pedigree Database is calculated to 20 generations.

If a Scottish Terrier has is registered to the CHIC database and we have the CHIC #, it will be displayed.  If you click on the CHIC #, you will be taken to the CHIC page for that dog.   For more information about CHIC visit Canine Health Information Center
