Legislative Team News for you!
Greetings members! In case you are a new member or are not aware of this service by the AKC, we have state by state legislation alerts available to us. You can track important bills and issues that can impact you and your dog. If you are a breeder, you should follow what is happening in your state. There are many states that are, and have introduced, over-reaching and nonsensical legislation which is contrary to you as responsible breeders. We of course need laws, but fair, balanced and sensible laws. Certainly throwing the baby out with the bath water needs to be opposed. So we invite you to take a look at the AKC site and see what is happing in your state. Just do a Google search for:
2018 Covers! Enter to win a cover in issue #1 or #3! Both are up for grabs!
Regional Clubs -- promote your club's specialty shows!
Greetings from The Bagpiper:
The Bagpiper staff thanks all our members for their great support for our publication through advertising. It is how we can manage to print a quality magazine professionally with lots of photos and color pages. There are other breed magazines who cannot reach the level of quality we have due to lack of funds.
Our advertisers are the BEST! If you haven't advertised, remember, you do not need to have a best in show. Advertise your beloved Scottie for being him or her self. We are pleased to show off all Scotties!
Bagpiper Issue #1 was mailed the week of April 10. If you have not yet received your copy, please note that for some, it will take up to 6 weeks as a few post offices are generally very slow in some areas of the US.
Bagpipers are sent by two different means. All members are entitled to free shipping, but that will be for "printed material" also called "Bulk mail" which is slow and depends on your post office to deliver whenever they wish.
If you want to receive the Bagpiper sooner, there is an upgrade option by adding $20 to your subscription for First Class mailing, and that puts the onus on the Post Office to deliver your Bagpiper the same as a letter. First Class is much more expensive per issue than printed matter postage.
Bagpiper deadline for #2 has just ended. It will take about 6 weeks before Issue #2 will be mailed.
REMEMBER THE NEXT DEADLINE FOR BAGPIPER #3 WILL BE JULY 15.
Sincerely, Your Bagpiper Staff
2018 Bagpiper Cover Drawing:
Be sure to submit your name and contact information to Corres. Sec. Theresa Thomas before 9/15/17 for an opportunity to feature your Scottie on the cover of The Bagpiper. Issues #1 and #3 are up for grabs. Winner will be selected at the STCA Annual Meeting on Fri., Oct. 6th.
Special notice to members and subscribers:
Regional Clubs - advertise your specialty show - 1/2 page - it's FREE!
