Congratulations to everyone who finished in the
ribbons during Montgomery week.
THANK YOU one and all for making the week so special. We broke records for event attendance at the host hotel and entries at Montgomery. Thank you to our members who traveled great distances to compete and support the breed. It was a week filled with joy and camaraderie.
Thank you to all volunteers, generous donors, exhibitors and our judges!
We could not be more proud of all of you!
Girl Scout Troop members with STCA's Jerry Burge & Lori Kelly along with AKC's Dennis Sprung, Blue Bell, PA
STCA hosted its very first AKC Dog Show
One of our Strategic Plan's goals is to introduce more young women and men to the world of purebred dogs and responsble dog ownership. The AKC Dog Show Patch Program is just one vehicle to help us reach this goal.
STCA hosted its first AKC Dog Show Patch Program for STCA and the MCKC on the grounds of the Montgomery County KC show. A few of the members of Girl Scout Troop #72141 based at St. Helena School, Blue Bell, PA joined us for a morning of education, introductions to members and Scotties, and the opportunity to experience the energy of the greatest all-Terrier show in the world.
Thanks to STCA's Charla Hill and Jerry Burge for giving of their time and knowledge during STCA's specialty show. AKC's Dennis Sprung was on hand to present each scout the AKC Dog Show Patch.
Regional Clubs: You, too, can offer a program in your area. It doesn't have to be a conformation event. Consider inviting a local Girl Scout troop or other youth group to a match, barn hunt or an agility event.
Please join us as we welcome new committee chairs to Legislation (Beth Cloven Hernandez), Public Information (Tracy Wooster), STCA Breeder Referral (Sonya Neve), and new editor for Bagpiper Clan Connection reports (Marilyn Cathcart).
Beth will assist us with dog legislation news from coast to coast. Tracy will reach out to all non-STCA members who achieve AKC titles with their Scotties, including a note of congratulations and an invitation to engage in STCA regional club activities.
Marilyn now serves as our new Bagpiper Regional Club Clan Connection Editor. Let's have 100% participation in issue #1 2019, even if just to announce a meeting or social event. We want to include ALL of our great regional clubs. Deadline for Clan Reports will be mid-January. Be on the look-out for Marilyn's next email or phone call.
Sonya will lead the way with Breeder Referral. Please scroll down to a special note from retiring chair Barb Zink. We are grateful for Barb's passion and connections she has made with many Scottie families through the years.
The STCA Board is already at work to bring us together for another productive year. Join me in welcoming new Directors Gary Stroede (OH) and Mark LaBonte (CA).

Scotties - STCA Breeder Referral
Special Message from Barb Zink
We welcome STCA's new Breeder Referral Chair, Sonya Neve from LaJunta, CO.
Sonya comes to the chair position with years of having owned, bred, and exhibited our beloved breed.
The STCA reminds you that Breeder Referral also offers its breeders an online listing site: https://stca.biz/breeders/add-litter-listing. This list is controlled entirely by the breeder(s), with listings posting up to 45 days.
Thank you all who have used STCA Breeder Referral and your help in working with the people who have contacted me looking for a new puppy or older dog. Breeder Referral has received many thanks from both new puppy homes and breeders for making many successful connections!
We are blessed to be involved with these wonderful dogs. They are our gifts. As Ed Leab so graciously put it, "See you at the Shows!" Barb Zink of DanZin Scottish Terriers
Thank you for all you do for your Scotties!
