Who will win the Top 20?
Pictured above, the Marie McLean Berry Scottish Terrier Top 20 Award
We want you! Yes - you! Join us for the Top 20.
Introduced at Rotating 2016, this is a competitive and FUN event for exhibitors and spectators alike. An engaging format for everyone present to view the very best Scottish Terriers in the United States and Canada based upon their competitive standings for the previous year.
What is a Top 20?
Its purpose is to showcase excellence in Scottish Terriers. "It provides special recognition to those Scottish Terriers with the most outstanding records in the show ring during the previous calendar year, together with their breeders, trainers and owners. The event provides a continuing incentive to strive for Scottish Terriers to excel in structure, movement, temperament and conformation to our written standard."
Thank you Vandra Huber! Thank you Bill Berry for donating the Marie McLean Berry Scottish Terrier Top 20 Award, a stunning perpetual trophy!
Be there! Thursday, April 21st. Pre-register for the reception at www.stca.biz
Thanks for supporting the Top 20!
Judging from both sides of the table. Are you an aspiring judge? Do you exhibit? This discussion is for you! Fri., April 22.
Transitioning from exhibitor to judge involves more than moving to the other side of the table. Whether you are thinking of judging in the future or just curious about what judges do, this discussion will provide information and much to talk about. What is the process of becoming a judge? What are the AKC guidelines and expectations for all judges? How do I show my dog to his/her best advantage? What questions do you have for judges? How do you talk to a judge after judging? These topics and more will make for an interesting and engaging evening of conversation.
Register at www.stca.biz. It's free!

STCA Legislative News for you!
Greetings! We now have a NEW 2016 Legislation team assembled! Please welcome Anne Dunn of Louisiana, Lisa Hills of Illinois and me! I am back after a brief sabbatical. Thankfully on the national front things have been relatively quiet however, state by state there is plenty of action going on.
Here's a very nice read from the NAIA (National Animal Interest Alliance), another great animal and breeder support group. NAIA is at the forefront defending peoples' rights and well being of their animals and helps bring about "sensible" animal laws. The key word is SENSIBLE!
Happy spring to everyone. Please check out these important links:

Scotties steal the hearts of visitors to the Scottie breed booth at this year's AKC's Meet & Compete - Meet the Breeds on Sat., Feb. 13.
Kudos to STCGNY President Amy Pelle and Erica Cerny for setting up this year's booth. Thanks to Nan Barcan, Arlene & Greg Brice, Scott & Kelly families! Debbie Naroff-Scott produced a streaming video featuring STCGNY's Scotties - a wonderful tribute to our love for the breed! Nothing topped STCGNY's well-dressed and good-mannered ambassadors (Scotties of course!) and a bagpiper to entertain the thousands of visitors at the piers!
Thanks again to STCGNY ('16) & Tampa Bay (12/15) for hosting these events in New York and Orlando.
