Here is an old newsreel clip from May 5, 1936 titled Vet Revives 'Dead' Scottie. The description reads: "New York City: During one of the most unusual stomach operations ever performed on a dog, Scotch terrier Sandy starts a journey to Limbo, but a quick-acting veterinary brings the animal back to life and later makes a successful blood transfusion on the dog." (partial newsreel). This movie is part of the collection: Universal Newsreels, Production Company: Universal Studios. It is in the Public Domain.
I came across this intersting piece of Scottie history on the Internet Archive. Click here to view the 58 sec movie in MPEG4 format (4 MB file). Click here to view the movie in MPEG2 format (22 MB file). Both links open in a new window.
